I'm a construction project coordinator. I've finished two Procore certifications (Project Manager: Core Tools and Project Manager: Project Management), so I know my way around RFIs, submittals, drawings, specs, punch lists and the rest of the GC paperwork.
This path isn't as left-field as it might look. Earlier in my career I was an operations coordinator for a pest control company in Manila. Our clients imported raw agricultural commodities, and when an inspection at the Port of Manila found an active pest infestation, fumigation was mandatory on the spot, with demurrage fees ticking by the day. I was the client’s first call. Within hours, I'd have the crew assembled (driver, licensed head fumigator, trained team), the fumigant dosage calculated from the cargo volume, and supplies out of our warehouse. The jobs weren't always at the port, either: silos, warehouses, trucks, wherever the cargo sat.
The coordination didn't stop at deployment. I had the site checked daily for leaks, because a leak means surviving pests, growing resistance, and a costlier second round at a higher dose. Aeration ran under a licensed fumigator with strict re-entry protocol, and I assigned the reinfestation checks afterwards. Regulated work, safety-critical crews, real money riding on every delay. It turned out to be very good training for construction coordination.
After that I was an Executive Assistant handling government bids, permits and licence renewals.
These days I work remotely as a Medical Records Processor for a US healthcare company, from the Philippines and on their time zone. Eight years in, zero HIPAA violations. That kind of track record doesn’t happen by accident: no one’s looking over my shoulder, no micromanagement, just discipline and clean work delivered to a client on the other side of the world.
Different industries, same skill: keeping documentation tight and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
I'm also building a Notion system for construction coordination (RFI log, submittal log, PCO tracker, payment claims, daily logs), and I build automations in n8n, Make and Zapier to take admin work off a coordinator's plate. You can see what that's produced in my five systems.
